Netiquette is essential in education with teenagers because it regulates how they communicate in digital environments and helps prevent problems such as cyberbullying, insults, and misunderstandings. By establishing clear rules of respect and responsibility, it promotes a positive climate of coexistence on educational platforms, school-related social networks, and collaborative work spaces. It also allows students to participate without fear of ridicule, improves their way of expressing themselves, and helps them focus on learning rather than on conflicts.

Moreover, netiquette contributes to the development of responsible digital citizenship, as it teaches students to protect their privacy, to think before posting, and to respect others online. At a stage of personal development such as adolescence, these guidelines help build a healthy digital identity and foster an understanding that online actions have real consequences. Thus, netiquette not only improves communication at school but also prepares students to behave ethically and safely in their future academic and social lives/

Para entender mejor el contenido, he realizado una presentación de la Netiqueta y un cuestionario. Arriba están los enlaces.

La netiqueta es fundamental en la educación con adolescentes porque regula la forma en que se comunican en entornos digitales y previene problemas como el ciberacoso, los insultos o los malentendidos. Al establecer normas claras de respeto y responsabilidad, se favorece un clima de convivencia positiva en plataformas educativas, redes sociales vinculadas al centro y trabajos colaborativos. Además, permite que el alumnado participe sin miedo al ridículo, mejore su forma de expresarse y se centre en el aprendizaje en lugar de en los conflictos.

Por otro lado, la netiqueta contribuye a la formación de una ciudadanía digital responsable, ya que enseña a cuidar la privacidad, a pensar antes de publicar y a respetar a los demás en Internet. En una etapa de desarrollo personal como la adolescencia, estas pautas ayudan a construir una identidad digital saludable y a comprender que los actos en línea tienen consecuencias reales. Así, la netiqueta no solo mejora la comunicación escolar, sino que prepara a los estudiantes para desenvolverse de manera ética y segura en la vida académica y social futura.

 

Presentations

SPANISH VERSION:

Se incluye collage con algunas presentaciones de alumnos, y de mi, como profesora.  Hay más presentaciones hechas dentro de la plataforma, he seleccionado algunas para hacer el collage. Encuentro esta actividad muy interesante porque la creación de presentaciones en inglés con apoyo de avatares ofrece importantes beneficios didácticos, ya que aumenta la motivación del alumnado al integrar elementos visuales y tecnológicos cercanos a su realidad digital. Este recurso favorece la práctica del idioma en contextos comunicativos significativos, especialmente la expresión oral y escrita, al exigir la planificación de un discurso y el uso funcional del vocabulario y la gramática. 

ENGLISH VERSION:

I include a collage about some students’ and teacher’s presentations. There are more presentations that I couldn’t include in the collage. All of them are included in the Etwinning official webpage- digital detox.

I find this activity really interesting  because the creation of presentations in English with the support of avatars offers significant educational benefits, as it increases student motivation by integrating visual and technological elements that are close to their digital reality. This resource encourages language practice in meaningful communicative contexts, especially oral and written expression, since it requires planning a discourse and using vocabulary and grammar in a functional way. Using avatars as images in English presentations also provides relevant didactic advantages because it introduces a personalized visual element that captures students’ attention and reinforces motivation.
